MANCHESTER SCIENCE FESTIVAL: IDEAS CAFE
How do you make tea? Doorstop collective will be asking this question as the starting point, when you go along to this science festival ideas cafe hosted by MOSI, the people who brought bodyworlds to Manchester, where artists, curators, scientists and other 'publiks' will work together to conjure up ideas for the Manchester Science Festival
The ideas cafe aims to stir things up a bit and find common ground between people coming from differing perspectives - artists, curators, scientists, venue owners - people with different interests and passions. What better place to start than a cuppa?
Festival Director, Laura Drane joins us to update us on the 2008 themes.

WHAT IS IT?
Manchester Science Festival aims to enthuse and inspire everyone about science, technology and engineering. This is your chance to get involved and influence the programming of the festival, taking place in venues across Manchester in October and November. The 2008 themes are:
"Manchesticity" - the city's endeavours, achievements, people, places and ideas
Mind & Body - activities and topics about our brains and brawn
Planet - exploring our impact on and use of the earth, and looking into space
The Elements - atoms; earth, wind, water, fire; and of course, the weather!
WHO IS IT FOR?
Everyone and anyone is welcome you don't have to fit into any boxes - bring your ideas, interests and inspirations... oh and bring your friends/ colleagues to share the experience.
